The review round today

Feedback arrives in five places and none of them is the file

If you build courses for clients, you already know this shape of pain.

“audio is off around 3:45-ish”

Timings described in words, in an email, about a file the reviewer had to download first. Someone then scrubs the video hunting for it.

CH05_v3_final_FINAL.mp4

Nobody is certain which version a comment referred to. Round 2 feedback gets applied to round 1 output, and the client notices before you do.

Tracker_Feedback_Master.xlsx

A spreadsheet maintained by hand, out of date the moment two people edit it, with no link back to the moment in the course being discussed.

“Which slide is that on?”

Comments describe a place in the course in words, in an email, and whoever fixes it has to guess which slide or screen was meant.

“We approved that in round 1”

Sign-off lives in an email thread. When scope is disputed months later, there is no record of who approved what, or when.

approvd.in puts every one of these in the same place as the file.

How it works

One link. Every comment pinned to the exact moment.

  1. 1

    Upload

Add the course to a project: video, PDF, a deck or a YouTube link. Files go to your own bucket.

  2. 2

    Invite

Send the client one link, or invite their whole team. Reviewers are unlimited and free.

  3. 3

    Review and approve

Every comment pins to the frame, slide or page. The client signs off in the tool, and it stays on record.

Bring your own storage

Your content lives in your bucket, not ours.

Connect your own S3-compatible bucket on every plan, including Free. Reviewers stream files straight from your bucket using short-lived signed links, so we store the comments, not the content.

Straight answers

The questions studios actually ask

Can you see our clients’ content?

Your files sit in a bucket on your own cloud account, under credentials you control and can revoke. We store the review data (comments, versions, sign-offs) and generate short-lived signed links so reviewers’ browsers stream files straight from your bucket. Some features need our server to handle a file for a while: thumbnails, converting Office files or unplayable video, and unpacking HTML5 packages for review. We do not keep your content as a hosted copy.

What happens to our files if we stop using approvd.in?

They stay where they have always been: in your bucket, in your cloud account. The comments, issues and sign-offs are the review record we hold, and you can export feedback to CSV.

Do our clients need an account?

Client reviewers get a login at no cost, and they are unlimited on every plan. You can also share a review link that needs no login, optionally password-protected and with an expiry date.

We don’t have S3 storage. Can we still start?

Yes. Start with unlisted YouTube links, which need no storage setup, and connect a bucket when you are ready. Setup guides cover AWS S3, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, Cloudflare R2, DigitalOcean Spaces and self-hosted MinIO.

Can I review SCORM packages?

Not yet. SCORM review is still under development and is coming soon. You can review HTML5 packages, video, PDF, PowerPoint, Word, images, audio and YouTube links today.

Who is behind approvd.in?
